Stephen is an expert in community building. He has been facilitating better, more effective community engagement for nearly ten years. As Chief Product Officer, Stephen is responsible for providing the strategic vision to the company’s team of designers and developers working on mySidewalk's world-class engagement technology. Before joining mySidewalk in 2011, Stephen used the platform as an urban planner with BNIM Architects. In that role, Stephen developed and grew BNIM’s sustainable community planning practice where he became a highly sought expert for communities rebuilding after disasters. His work is most well-known relevant to rebuilding efforts for Greensburg, Kan., following a catastrophic EF-5 tornado in 2007 that wiped out most of the community’s structures. Stephen is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners and holds a LEED AP credential.
